LINKBLOG

Donald Knuth is worried about his website in which Dare mentions an email supposedly sent to the www-validator maillist by Donald Knuth (http://www-cs-faculty.stanford.edu/~knuth/) :)

Another one for my toread folder is the online 'blook' hackoff.com which will be updated online.

ps: This is just a test to see if I can successfully peruse Bloggers' email functionality
ps2:it worked...

ps3: Yes... it did work, which is very convenient for me. On the other hand it makes one think: although this is somehow a password protected way of working (you'll have to add a secret part to the email address before you're able to use this feature) it makes me think anyhow. Using part of an email address as a password seems a bit strange. On the other hand, just as with 'normal' passwords it's in the users hands to take good care of it. You don't hand out passwords, you don't tell people your blogspot-post email address. The big caveat I at least can see here is that now a password is sent to blogger in the querystring or the URL. This makes it possible for administrators or anyone who can sniff network traffic to see this email address. And because it's common knowledge that people tend to use the same password over and over, why wouldn't they use it here. Some food for thinking I would say
